Australian Catholic Youth Festival Preparation Prayer
|
|
God of all, you gently call us each by name.
As we prepare for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Adelaide, set us on a path to your kingdom.
In a world were complexity and busyness cloud and distort our way, together we long for what is true and real.
Continue to call us, O God, so that we may come to know and see you more clearly.
As we gather from across this land of the Holy Spirit; may our hearts yearn for purity, that we may be authentic witnesses of your love.
May we truly come to see God in the faces of all your holy people.
Amen.
St Mary of the Cross MacKillop pray for us.

A message from the Australian Catholic Youth Festival team:
|
|
In just over two weeks over 3000 young Catholics gathering in Adelaide will bring to life our theme ‘Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God’ Mt5:8. The Festival will be a time rich in prayer, dialogue, learning, fun and fellowship. We can't wait to see you there!
However, if you can’t make it to Adelaide, be sure to watch online and join the conversation via our live webcast on XT3. The live webcast will be available at www.xt3.com/acyf/live. The ACBC Office for Youth are working in partnership with XT3 to provide recordings of workshops and other resources from the Youth Festival.
Registration is still available for 18-25 year olds at http://youthfestival.catholic.org.au/index.php/registration/registration
The full schedule is available online at http://youthfestival.catholic.org.au/index.php/program/schedule

|
|
This design could look a lot better... in fact it could be signed by you!
What is SHOW AND LIVE MERCY?
Next year on the 9th – 10th of April, the Diocesan Youth Assembly will be held in Whyalla, at Samaritan College. It will bring together students and young adults in this Year of Mercy to nut out what that means in our lives. With Steph Unger, we will be singing the song created especially for our event, based on your ideas of what mercy means. Students from year 7 upwards can participate and the winning entry will receive a $100 Coles/Myer gift card.
Simply create a design (original drawings only – due to copyright reasons) on the template, including the words 'Show and live mercy' and your visual interpretation. Let your creativity begin!
Entries must be given to teachers by December 7 and mailed by December 11 to Sr Elizabeth Young, PO Box 492, Port Augusta SA 5700.

A message from our bishop:
“Dear Pilgrims
On this World Youth Day you will be going to a country which has a proud history of bearing witness to its Christian faith despite persecution and suffering…For the people of Poland, their faith was their strength, and there were many examples of Christian heroism. May something of this spirit become part of you as you participate in World Youth Day. May the great devotion to Our Lady that the Polish people have become part of your spirituality also. At the basis of it all must be the person of Jesus in the Gospels, and in the sacraments, and in the hearts of all those young people around you…World Youth Day can be a time of exuberance, joy, and the witness of hope. May these virtues light up your lives.”
