highlights from the Australian Catholic Youth Festival
Some highlight moments from Australian Catholic Youth Festival from Sr Liz:

  • School students who had been to Vietnam with a school immersion returning full of gratitude for their privileges in Australia.
  • A student who came from a small rural town who was preparing to take his sacraments, alone in his area. He was so excited about the Festival, which helped to confirm and strengthen his faith and sense of community.
  • A young man returned from an experience of Reconciliation he had not had in a long time. He was touched and felt forgiven and free.
  • A few young people in a discussion with bishops about refugees. They had taken considerable action in their local churches and schools to support and advocate for friends who had sought asylum.
  • A young woman shared her story of faith and the experience of climbing mountains, in a poetic way that connected to all of us.
  • A young man was very impressed by Jason Evert's talk and felt he had gained skills and knowledge to live a Christian life.
  • Volunteers were were so generous and helpful despite sometimes having physical limitations.
