Dear All,
Farewell for the year, and from my very blessed time as a Youth and Young Adult Ministry Coordinator for the Port Pirie Diocese. Thank you for the way you have all been involved in my life, teaching me so much and sharing your life, faith, joy and hope.
Last night we had a lovely young adult group Follow, Food and Friends, looking at the theme of change and transition in the Bible. There is also a report from Tessa Bernhardt about the most recent YCS camp and a very positive new youth group in Whyalla.

In Peace, Elizabeth

YCS Camp
The South Australian YCS was held in the October holidays at Cardijn College. On this camp students focused on the Judge section of the Review of Life. Students with the help of Adult Assistants ran sessions focusing on the campaign of Climate Justice. Students also got to take time out and go for a nature walk and really experience the environment that they may usually take for granted, this helped all the students to feel more connected to the 2016-2018 campaign and helped students to create an action to help us strive towards Climate Justice!

Oct 18 was the start of the Whyalla Catholic Youth Group. Next Monday 28 Nov will be the third time that we are meeting together. So far a consistent number of 10-13 young people has been coming together every Monday per fortnight from 6 – 7:30pm for a night of fun, friendship, fellowship and faith experience. Everyone from Year 7 – Year 12 are invited to come and just enjoy the night.

A few words from several youth who come to the Youth Group:

“The youth group is a fun session which we all get along, it would be nice to have some more members.” – Liam

“It was great to meet everyone and it was lots of fun! I enjoyed playing the games and getting to know people. I didn’t know what to expect but it was really fun!” – Sequoia

“It is good to go to the youth group because it’s a good place to start making new friends and having lots of fun. It gives you something to do on Monday night rather than staying at home doing nothing.” – Raf
